The September CHS Yellowjacket Literate selection correlates with Hispanic Heritage Month. Novels by author Gary Soto are the featured selections. Gary Soto is a renowned author who interweaves many of his childhood experiences in Fresno, CA into his works. Many teenagers will identify with storylines in Soto's novels from assimilation, poverty, social advancement, family conflict, dating, gang life, etc. More information on Gary Soto is available at http://garysoto.com/

Instead, a book of the month selection will be announced to library patrons through book talks given by the librarian or library aides. The choice(s) will be posted online. All library visitors may choose to read the selections.
